DONG QUAI

Dong Quai is often called the “female ginseng” due to its ability to balance female hormones. 
It can be used for an array of hormone and cycle related concerns and is often used as a blood tonic to assist in the return of absent menstrual bleeds and improve red blood cell counts. 
 Dong Quai has been used effectively for ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, PCOS and Endometriosis, all of which are considered as situations of stagnation, as it increases and promotes a healthy blood flow which therefore reduces congestion and pain. 

Dong Quai has been documented to be beneficial for a range of illnesses such as hypothyroidism, migraines, hypertension, kidney disease, arthritis, nerve pain, shingles, sciatica, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis too due to being high in Vitamin B-12, biotin, cobalt, folate and iron.

SUGGESTED DOSE;      
If you’re just starting out with herbs, and particularly tinctures, start off with 6-12 drops for a few days, then increase.
