How do I take my herbs…?

How do I take my herbs…?

A question that I am asked daily

Despite there being basic intrucutions on the labels… My honest answer is “take them intuitively”.
But what does that mean?

For many people, tuning into their intuition is quite difficult, most people don’t know where to start. So let me try and break it down for you.

For example, you’re having one of those days where you just cannot be bothered, so you call at the sandwich shop for a bacon butty, then realised you forgot your lunch, so grab a meal deal. You then finish work late, can’t be bothered to cook, so order a take out. We’ve all had those kind of days. But have you ever noticed how you feel after you’ve eaten?Sluggish? Tired? Un-productive?
That’s because we all know that these foods aren’t great for us, high in salt and heavily processed.

Now think of a time when you woke up, you made a super healthy breakfast, felt great about it so you hit the gym, made a salad for lunch and cooked a nutritious evening meal? I bet you felt a whole lot better than your “couldn’t be bothered day” right?
That’s because you know that you’ve eaten well, provided your body with vital nutrients and energy sources to get you through your day.

In a nutshell, that is tuning into your intuition.

Notice when you take your herbs how they make you feel, you may feel different instantly, you may not feel anything at all, but I encourage you to really try and spend some time listening to your body and what it’s telling you.

Combine this with the knowledge you have of the herbs, and you’re well on your way to optimum health! The Pine Needle Tincture, for example, is one that I take daily, morning and night. However, if I feel a cold or virus brewing, I might increase that to six times daily, as I’m also aware of the medicinal benefits from it.

Many of my wonderful customers have a collection of my teas and tinctures, some of them having 10 or more. Do they take every single one every single day? Nope. Do they listen to what their body needs? Absolutely!

This is what we should all be doing, taking ownership of ourselves. Taking ownership of our bodies, and taking ownership of our health.

Still unsure of how to take your herbs?

Herbal Tea - for maintenance 3 cups per day, for acute conditions 6 cups per day
Herbal Tinctures - for maintenance, 6 drops to half a dropper; 1-2 times daily, for acute conditions up to 6 times a day.
Capsules - as instructed
Dog herbs - as instructed although you can titrate according to your dogs needs

But most importantly, use your intuition 💜

I hope this helps.

Love & Light x
